چکیده

Background: We assessed the potential efficacy of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI). Methods: Seventy STEMI who presented ≤12 hours after onset symptoms and were scheduled for PPCI randomly assigned to standard treatments plus CoQ10 or placebo. In group, CoQ10, as an oral capsule at a dose 400 mg, was loaded immediately before continued 200 mg twice daily 28 days. The control group received matching placebo, similarly. study endpoints proportion complete reperfusion, defined thrombolysis (TIMI) flow blush grade (MBG) 3 end PPCI, resolution (≥70%) 60 minutes plasma levels creatine kinase band isoenzyme (CK-MB) troponin I (TnI) 12, 24, 48, 72 left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) day 28. Results: groups comparable regarding baseline clinical procedural characteristics. TIMI 3, MBG ST completion similar between groups. Whereas all-time points (12, hours), CK-MB TnI significantly lower than group. Further, 28, CoQ10-treated exhibited better LVEF placebo-treated patients, less 50% Conclusion: Our provided evidence that supplementation might reduce ischemia-reperfusion injury help preserve function. However, further studies are required validate these results.

Smoker's Paradox in Patients With ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

BACKGROUND Prior studies have found that smokers undergoing thrombolytic therapy for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction have lower in-hospital mortality than nonsmokers, a phenomenon called the "smoker's paradox." Evidence, however, has been conflicting regarding whether this paradoxical association persists in the era of primary percutaneous coronary intervention. METHODS AND RESULTS...

Effect of metformin on outcome in patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention for st-segment elevation myocardial infarction

Methods From January 2004 until June 2013, all consecutive critically ill patients undergoing primary PCI for STEMI at the University Medical Center Groningen were included in a registry and 1-year follow-up was obtained. Our primary endpoint consisted of the composite endpoint of myocardial infarction, target vessel and target lesion revascularization, and all-cause mortality (MACE). The secon...

Effect of upstream clopidogrel treatment in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention.

AIMS Immediate treatment with a loading dose of clopidogrel at diagnosis of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is recommended by ESC/AHA/ACC guidelines in patients eligible for primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, the evidence for this practice is scarce. METHODS AND RESULTS All patients who underwent PCI for STEMI in Sweden between 2003 and 2008 were ident...

Serial Plasma Levels of Angiogenic Factors in Patients With ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Patients with acute myocardial infarction show varying degrees of collateral development. However, the relationships between angiogenic factors and degree of collaterals are not well known. SUBJECTS AND METHODS Fifty-nine patients (mean age, 59±10 years) with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)...

Outcomes of off- and on-hours admission in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention

Studies evaluating the outcomes of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) are scarce, particularly in China. The purpose of present study was therefore to compare the impact of off-hours and on-hours admission on clinical outcomes in STEMI patients from China. We retrospectively analyzed 1594 patients from 4 ho...
